Luce Group collaborated with the design team at Discovery Place on two installations for their entries, each created to entice visitors further into the museum. The third floor piece, a dynamic installation made out of 200 LED fixtures, is titled "Pebbles." It is programmed to shift color in different ways, creating fluid and ever changing patterns.

Also changing color and pattern, but through content, is the giant LED installation for the main entry and ticketing area, which is based on the theme “Emergence.” For both the artistic vision and cost considerations, the team decided on a low resolution option, with a 1:1 ratio of used and unused space. The face of the installation is a deep red painted metal surface, chosen to withstand all types of wear and tear. From lava lamp blobs to ladybugs, several hundred short video clips provided over 30 minutes of content - enough to cover even an extremely long wait on the ticket line!
