"A NEW LIGHT ON TIFFANY"

NEW YORK HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Iconic lamps, mosaics and stained glass glimmered at The New York Historical Society's groundbreaking exhibit, "A New Light on Tiffany," which celebrated Clara Driscoll and the Tiffany girls. Previously unknown, these women were responsible for some of the most recognizable Tiffany patterns, and many of the products and documents they created were on display.

Each gallery, painted a rich peacock blue, had a theme from the life of the "New Woman" to the process of making a Tiffany lamp. The challenge was that all of the lighting - object, case and walkway - emanated from the existing inventory and track. Instrument choice and focus needed to be precise so items glowed yet the source remained unobtrusive. Light levels were appropriate for 100-year-old letters and drawings while still carving out details on ceramics and metalwork.

Luce Group's lighting added focus and sparkle to the already exquisite objects.
