ROCKEFELLER CENTER MOTORCYCLE SHOWS
Visitors to Rockefeller Center’s Grand Concourse were treated to motorcycle shows in 2002 and 2004. Both exhibits, seen by thousands of people, were comprised of over 45 vintage and contemporary motorcycles and scooters and bold colored platforms and graphics. For each display, Luce Group designed an integrated truss and lighting system that did not interfere with visitor flow, but allowed the proper locations for fixtures so the curves, finishes and mechanics of the bikes could be made to shine. Luce also lit pop-up retail stores, and, in 2004, found creative and safe locations in the plaza for outdoor equipment to light four vertically mounted motorcycles, which flanked the building’s entrance.
